The food was decent but very overpriced. The fish sandwich I had was ok but didn't match the description that was on the menu. It had an...interesting sauce on it with what I think was bananas in it. Waitstaff was slow and unresponsive. They were slow on refills. We had to prompt a waitress twice to find our waiter for our check.
Frenchtown is a really quaint town full of charm. We had an outdoor lunch at this cafe with a wonderful view of the Delaware river and of course the bridge. The food was outstanding. I had the special of the day, Caesar salad with pork schnitzel with a maple cupcake for dessert. It was delicious. From my understanding they have different desserts everyday. This is a must go place for lunch.
Suddenly I felt like being in a French town. With the cafe beside a river bridge common in Europe, I was like having a coffee in Paris. Beside this, her coffee was the best i have ever drunk in America. And the omellete i ordered was very Frenchy as well. Of course it was savory.
They have fabulous food. The owners and servers are nice and friendly. Excellent!
It's perfectly located right on the canal which makes it the ideal stopping point when cycling up and down the river. The food, in my experience, is always prepared well. It's a very popular spot, great for people watching on a summer weekend. They have items immediately available at the counter, but also a dining room if you want to stay awhile.
