My wife and I decided to get away for our anniversary weekend. We were delighted to stay on the Widow McCrea House. The grounds around the house are beautifully kept and the outside lights accent the exterior nicely. There was a feeling of warmth as you walk into the house and see the beautifully vintage decorated dining room and continues with the very cozy living room with a fireplace. Our room was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. As if all of this wasn't splendid already, the warm welcome and hospitality of the owner, Lynn, definitely put it over the top. She interacted with us in every opportunity she had and made us 2 delicious breakfasts. Her honey baked grapefruit and french toast are a must!
... and her breakfasts are superb!!
I can't say enough good things about the Widow McCrea House bed and breakfast. We stayed in the cottage for our anniversary weekend, and it was INCREDIBLE. The perfect amount of privacy and space for an incredibly romantic weekend. The decor is adorable - as soon as we walked in we wanted to explore the whole place - it felt like a home away from home. The daily delivery of the basket of breakfast cooked by Lynn was absolutely delicious. The check-in process was easy. The fireplace is so easy to use and very romantic, as is the large jacuzzi built for two. The private garden grotto area that you get with your cottage reservation is wonderful - sitting out there with the lights, candles, and some wine was perfect (we also ate our breakfasts out there!). Lynn was also very helpful in making dinner reservations for us at the Frenchtown Inn, which was romantic and the food was DELICIOUS. We really didn't want to leave, and wished we had booked an even longer weekend. We would absolutely return.
For a first time experience at a B&B my wife and I were floored. What a wonderful relaxing experience. The Kase Cottage was so quaint and had everything we were looking for. A fireplace, a hot tub jacuzzi and even a delicious breakfast delivered to our front door each morning. We did our daily excursions during the day and it was great to come back to peace and quiet. It was around the holidays too so as an added bonus the cottage was decorated for Christmas. I highly recommend this place and would love to come back.
Oh, did I mention Lynn's scones? Try them you'll see why!!
Had the opportunity for a 1-night stay (21-Aug-17) and sure wish it had been longer.
Wonderful B&B, Lynn was so gracious and friendly
Very comfortable and well-equipped room
The whole area bears exploring in a nice relaxed manner and we hope to return to do just that!
This bed and breakfast is one of the best we have ever stayed at. The Anne James suite is splendid with a fireplace and jacuzzi, the room is very spacious which is hard to find at a B & B. The host prepares a candlelight gourmet breakfast every morning that was delicious!!!! We truly didn’t want to leave after our three night stay. Looking forward to our next stay hopefully in the cottage. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
... and I do like it when there are bath robes awaiting.
The laid-back pace of the area, the coziness of the Widow McCrea House and the warmth of Lynn were just the experiences we were seeking and thankfully received. We would definitely recommend the Widow McCrea House for a nice getaway.
